Community Guidelines

used.kiwi works because real Kiwis trust each other. These guidelines keep the marketplace genuine, safe, and fair. Breaking them can lead to listings being removed and accounts being suspended or banned.

1. Genuine second-hand only

List only used items that you personally own and have the right to sell. No new retail stock, no imported-for-resale goods, no drop-shipping, and no wholesale or shop-style selling.

2. Be honest

• Use real photos of the actual item — not stock images.
• Describe condition accurately, including any faults.
• Price fairly and don't use misleading titles.

3. Prohibited and restricted items

Don't list anything that is illegal to sell or that endangers others, including:

• Weapons, ammunition, and restricted or offensive items.
• Recalled, counterfeit, or stolen goods.
• Alcohol, tobacco, vapes, drugs, or drug paraphernalia.
• Animals and living creatures.
• Hazardous materials and anything age-restricted to minors via the kids marketplace.
• Personal data, accounts, or anything that breaches someone's privacy or copyright.

4. Treat people well

No harassment, hate speech, threats, or discrimination. Communicate respectfully and follow through on agreed trades.

5. Keep kids safe

The used.kiwi/kids marketplace has extra protections. Adults must not attempt to contact children directly — all communication goes through the child's Authorised Person. See How Kids works.

6. Reporting

If you see a listing or behaviour that breaks these guidelines, report it. We review reports and take action, which feeds into our trust and reputation system.

7. Enforcement

Depending on severity, we may warn you, remove content, restrict features, or permanently ban your account. Serious matters may be referred to the authorities.
